Welcome to “The
Mommy Call.” Please, come and do life with me! I am a Stay-At-Home mom with two
amazing kids, a wonderful husband and an awesome God Who keeps it all together
even when I fall apart! :)
Some days my
posts will go deep, talking about how God powerfully reveals more of Himself to
me through the sacred channels of my precious babies. Other times it will be
funny snapshots of life, like the time my 3 yr old daughter became upset when
we told her she has to wait to get married! (Too many Disney princess movies!!)
This is my journey full of funny stories, powerful moments, and overall an
incredible time of growing, learning and prayerfully becoming more like Him in
the day in/day out call to fulltime motherhood.
I hope you
enjoy and find yourself laughing, growing and sometimes crying along with me. WARNING: This is not for the faint of heart! There
will be moments of powerful highs and others of overwhelming fatigue and emotional
despair. And this can all come before breakfast! :) Of our own we are hopeless against the daily
pressures and struggles and emotional rollercoaster this position inevitably
brings, but know this…Of our own we are hopeless, but through the power of our
great God each of us can face the challenges of each day and emerge victorious!
Make no
mistake. Being Mommy is the most amazing thing in the world to me! And each day
I am amazed that God has given me the privilege (along with my husband) of shaping,
training, and simply witnessing these two precious lives! But my intent here is
not to paint a perfect picture of my world and make you wonder what’s wrong
with you. Rather, I plan to peel back the curtain and give you a peak into my
life, and let you know you are not alone, and you are not crazy! (As I felt for
the first 3 years!) It is not about having no problems or struggles or having
all the right answers. My goal is to take our daily battles and apply the healing
balm of His Word!
Motherhood
is a calling. Regardless of how you “feel” (lots more to come on that topic!),
if you have been blessed with a child, you are called to this life! And know
that He who called you has equipped you! He is able! And through Him we can do
whatever He calls us to do through His strength at work in us! (Philippians 4:13)
Even if you
are not a mommy, I believe you will still find plenty here to bless, challenge
and entertain you along your own journey through life.
Until the
next post remember this...
“But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is
enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the
trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect
(fulfilled and completed) and [a]show themselves most effective in
[your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and
infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may
rest (yes, may [b]pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!”
2 Corinthians 12:9
